For it’s 34th issue, METAL Magazine evokes and channels the idea of “Beautiful Obsessions” into its soft-hued pages and avoids the predictable–offering up a fresh show and tell of visuals. Three covers, featuring fragile stares by each of its stars, Luka van der Veken, Hari Nef and Julia Leineweber, bind the collection of editorials, prefaced by an editor’s statement, “As the issue started shaping itself, we realized it was an issue about beauty. In other words, about how we seek for beauty in those obsessions that keep chasing us along our lifetime.” Inside Coco Capitan photographs Gaby Loader & Sasha Baldina with her signature idiosyncratic eye, dressed in red tracksuits courtesy of Anna Pesonen, while Julia Leineweber shimmers, bedecked with glitter and sequin in her story by Raffaele Cariou and Martina Lew quietly models in peculiar pastels styled by Santi Rodriguez and shot by Jonas Lindstrom.
