Irish designer and creative director of Spanish luxury house Loewe Jonathan Anderson has collaborated with Japanese retailer Uniqlo on a Fall/Winter collection featuring the children’s story character Peter Rabbit.
Marking his second collaboration, the collection entitled ‘JW Anderson x Uniqlo’ comprises of 12 women’s items, 10 men’s items, and 9 unisex accessories in a color palette of tartan and warm. From comfy loungewear, T-shirts, pajama pants, and sweatshirts to scarves, jackets, collared sweaters, socks, and shirts the collection blends an urban wardrobe with the serenity of a peaceful weekend in the country.
Author Beatrix Potter’s beloved childish characters, Peter Rabbit (Peter Kanin) and his cousin Benjamin Rabbit (Benjamin Langore) are featured on some of the collection’s nicest styles like wool sweaters and oversized T-shirts. Overall the collection lends JW Anderson’s lighthearted feel to the simple and high-quality everyday fashion of UNIQLO, imparting LifeWear with a whole new charm.
‘For me this collection was really about embracing the season. I wanted something that felt very Autumnal in a way and that also felt quite like Autumn in the British countryside. I wanted it to feel comfortable and worn. Almost cosy in a way,’ Anderson said about the collection in a press release.
